DataArcus (dataarcus.com) is run by Abdelrahman Mohammed in Dubai, UAE. This page explains, in plain language, what information the website collects, why, and what you can do about it.
The short version
- The free tools run in your browser. What you type or open in them is not uploaded to us.
- We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how the site is used, so we can improve it.
- If you use the contact form, we receive the details you send so we can reply.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not show ads.
The free tools
The Power BI and Fabric tools (theme and layout generator, KPI designer, calendar and measure builders, model health check, licensing calculator and exam simulators) run entirely in your browser. Your colors, measure names, test values, model files and exam answers stay on your device. To keep your work between visits, the tools save it in your browser's local storage. You can clear it at any time from your browser settings. Share links from the KPI designer contain the design inside the link itself, so only people you send the link to can see it.
Analytics: Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity
Google Analytics tells us which pages are visited, roughly where visitors come from (country and city level), the device and browser, how people found the site, and which tool features are used (for example, downloading a theme or starting a practice exam). Search words typed into the blog search may be recorded to improve the articles.
Microsoft Clarity shows how pages are used through heatmaps and session replays: clicks, scrolling and mouse movement. It helps us find confusing parts of the site. On the tools, Clarity masks the areas where you enter or open your own data, and it isn't loaded at all on the SVG KPI Designer, whose share links carry your design in the page address.
Both services use cookies and receive your IP address as part of normal web traffic. They process this data under their own privacy policies (Google and Microsoft).
Contact form and WhatsApp
When you send the contact form, your name, email address, company, the options you pick and your message are delivered to our email through Web3Forms, a form delivery service. We use them only to reply to you and to follow up on your request. The WhatsApp buttons open WhatsApp, which is run by Meta under its own privacy policy. We only see what you choose to send there.
Hosting and content delivery
The website is hosted on GitHub Pages. Fonts come from Google Fonts, and some scripts and icons come from the jsDelivr network. Like any website server, these services receive your IP address and basic browser details when your browser loads files from them.
Cookies and browser storage
- Analytics cookies from Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, to count visits and understand usage.
- Browser storage on your own device: your language choice, and your work in the tools.
What we do not do
We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not use it for advertising. We do not ask you to create an account.
Your choices
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you (for example, a contact form message), ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@DataArcus.com and we will reply within a reasonable time. To stop Google Analytics on all websites, Google offers a browser add-on. Content blockers and your browser's privacy settings also block these services.
Children
This website is meant for professionals and is not directed at children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
